1000 Pixels From Now

Where Will You Be...And What Will You Remember?

1000 Pixels From Now is a collaborative global project designed to celebrate a moment. A single picture tells more than words can express. All of the pictures in this project are taken exclusively with cell phones. Nothing fancy, no staged poses, no post work or touch ups. Everything is as it happened and captured entirely in camera. Even the gritty image that a cell phone camera produces tells a story. You’re invited to open your mind and appreciate negative spaces and beauty in the most uncommon places.

This “Experiment in Human Experience” is meant to create and inspire others to create not just pictures but anything that allows you to express yourself and allow others to experience the moments that you’ve captured and created. We invite all working in the mediums of Picture, Video, Art, Music… to participate. Anyone is welcome, not just professionals. The only experience you need is…Life.

Life is moving so fast we create memories and quickly move on to the next, hardly stopping to enjoy or reflect. This site is best viewed in the early hours of the morning, when you can’t sleep, and ideally when you need to relax and reflect. Turn off all outside influences and sit back and enjoy. This site is operated and maintained by a couple of insomniacs, all on a volunteer basis. This project is a labor of love.

Take some pictures and e-mail them to us along with a single word or short description that describes how you were feeling in that single moment captured in time. Happy, Sad, Sexy, Angry, Lonely, Tired...........

If you want to take us beyond the moment, Send us a video (preferably YouTube) you’ve made about the moment you have captured or while you were capturing it, and we will add it to the post for others to experience. Check out the “Icon Key” for easy navigation. We will also feature a page exclusively for fan-made videos and art inspired by this project.
